Service Description
The YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor V6 Course is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare individuals to deliver high-quality, safety-focused swim instruction using the YMCA’s nationally recognized curriculum. This course equips participants with the skills to effectively teach swimmers of all ages and ability levels—from beginners developing foundational water comfort to more advanced participants refining stroke technique and endurance. Emphasis is placed on structured lesson planning, progressive skill development, risk awareness, and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment. Through a combination of hands-on practice and instructional guidance, participants will learn how to communicate clearly, adapt teaching strategies to different learning styles, and foster confidence in every swimmer they teach. By the end of the course, participants will be prepared to lead swim lessons with professionalism, support drowning prevention efforts, and contribute to the YMCA’s mission of building strong, healthy communities.
